“These business leaders have accomplished so much and contributed a tremendous amount to the community.”
Within that sentence is the point I wanted to make with this post.
While it’s personally rewarding to be recognized by our peers for our successes, especially when our “peers” are as esteemed as Ernst & Young, what I’m most proud of as a leader is the contribution I’m making to the world.
My comment, as you’ll see in the video recap, is that ViSalus™ was built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. It’s more than a consumer products company; we aim to change millions of people’s lives through innovation.
So, while I’m happy to have an award to display in the ViSalus office, I’m even happier to see the impact we are making in the lives of others. The award may have my name on it, but it’s really about us, and what we’re achieving together.
Watch this video recap with footage from the Ernst and Young ceremony, and a few additional thoughts from me…
If you know my story, you know that I came from nothing. I’ve faced a great deal of adversity on the path to success. And if you know ViSalus’ story, you know that it didn’t happen overnight. It took years of determination and persistence to overcome the obstacles.
I just wanted to remind you that with enough hard work, it will happen. And then you can be the next “Entrepreneur Of The Year.”
